Welcome to the Family InSight web site 


Family InSight is a volunteer-based organisation supporting families with young children in the Hunter Valley region of New South Wales in Australia. To find out more, click on the 'About Us' tab above or click here. 


Family InSight supports families with at least one child under the age of five in the following areas: 


West Lake Macquarie, Maitland, Cessnock, Port Stephens and the Upper Hunter. We can also provide support from an Early Childhood Coordinator and an Aboriginal Coordinator. Please click here to see a map of our service area. Please note that Family InSight does not cover Newcastle, North and East Lake Macquarie. 


Volunteers visit families for 2 hours a week to encourage families in their parenting experiences. Volunteers provide support in a range of ways including having a 'cuppa' and a chat, playing with the children, attending playgroups, helping families connect to the local community and much more. 


 


Volunteer Training courses 2010


Volunteer Training courses commencing in 2010 in Maitland, Cessnock, West Lake Macquarie, Upper Hunter and Raymond Terrace. Each course runs for one day a week from 10am - 2.30pm for seven weeks. Click here for more information. 


 


Family InSight Christmas Raffle 2009


The Family InSight Christmas Raffle draw took place on Friday 20th November at our annual Volunteers Christmas Lunch at The Bradford Rutherford. The raffle was a great success and we managed to raise $1397 which will go towards ongoing volunteer training and family play times. Thank you to everyone that purchased a ticket and also sold tickets on our behalf.

Family InSight Volunteer Christmas Lunch 2009

Thank you to all of the volunteers that attended our annual Volunteers Christmas Lunch at The Bradford on Friday 20th November. We had over 50 volunteers attend the lunch which was a great effort on such a hot day. Thank you to those volunteers that had to travel and also thank you to all of our male vounteers that attended, it was great to see such good numbers this year.
