The Family Worker program operates in the Cessnock, Kurri Kurri, Weston, Upper Hunter, Maitland, Singleton, Dungog and Port Stephens regions.
The program supports families with children 0-8 years of age and families who are expecting a baby.
The programs broad objectives are:
To strengthen links and support access for families to early childhood development and education services
To engage parents and communities in understanding the importance of early childhood
To support families with children to connect with other families and local services
We work in partnership with families to identify and achieve specific goals that are unique to each family. Services are provided in the families own home or in a community setting.
We also work in partnership with other organisations to provide information and parenting program support to parents within a community setting and have the option to continue working on a one to one basis with families as needed.
Families requiring support and who would like to be connected to their local community
Families from culturally diverse backgrounds
Families with a parent and/or child living with a disability
Families with Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander backgrounds
Families with grandparents as the guardian or shared care roles
First time parents
Young parents under 25 years old
Families can call us directly on 4961 0700 or referrals can come from a Child & Family Health Nurse, Doctor, Family Support Worker, Social Worker, Hospital, Church, Early Intervention Service, Childcare or Pre-school service or a School.

Your feedback is important to us and helps us to continue to improve our services. If you have a complaint we want to hear from you. Wherever possible, we encourage you to speak to the person involved. If you are not sure who to contact, ask to speak to the manager of Family InSight. Every attempt will be made to resolve the complaint within 14 calendar days.
